Methodology and Learning
Children learn through interaction and observation in the surroundings and our approach towards inquiry based learning or experiential learning helps them to make connections to previous knowledge, reflect on concepts providing a rich learning experience.
Curriculum
The school curriculum prescribed by CBSE blended with array of activities provides students with a broad and balanced understanding of subjects including Languages, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science to enable students to communicate effectively, analyze and interpret information meaningfully, make informed decisions, and progress smoothly to be productive future citizens. Experiential and active learning are the preferred pedagogies to provide meaningful and joyful learning experiences and go beyond textbooks. The National Education Policy 2020 outlines the vision of a new education system in India. It emphasizes an activity based and play based approach to learning. The policy aims to develop students’ cognitive, social, emotional, creative and physical abilities. The curriculum of the school is designed keeping in mind the objectives of NEP.
Assessment
Over the course of the curriculum transaction, multiple assessment strategies, to assess the learning progress of students are conducted.
Evaluation in Pre Primary happens through a continuous process involving hands-on activities, worksheets, presentations, reading, speaking and listening comprehension skills etc. We at IBS help children to develop skills among the learners to combine their outside school experiences in their classroom learning to attain foundational literacy and numeracy in a better way.
The Primary, Middle and Higher classes, the students are assessed internally on a quarterly basis which include Periodic Test I & II, SA-I & SA-II, Oral Examination, Subject Enrichment Activities, Portfolio.
